Its name, which means “the boat,” comes from the ferry that once carried travelers across the river, making the town an important early crossing point. From vibrant religious celebrations to Its cuisine which is known for rich, comforting flavors such as birria tatemada, homemade cheeses, fresh creams, and traditional sweets.
